Review, identify, select, and forward applicants in support of the company's hiring needs; throughout the selection process, convey to candidates aspects of the work environment and company culture.
  • Following established recruiting processes, conduct resume/credential reviews and screening of candidates as appropriate to position requirements
  • Understand the business needs in order to implement and administer recruiting processes
  • Provide information regarding application status and other applicable company/position information
  • Assist partners on the sourcing recruitment teams ensuring all pertinent information regarding site specific recruiting processes and service level agreements is employed when sourcing hard-to-fill positions
  • Update and maintain candidate information in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Assist Human Resources and hiring managers in the creation of detailed and accurate interview tools
  • Support company-sponsored recruiting events such as local/national career fairs, special events or functions
  • Possess, maintain and apply knowledge and understanding of and follows all EEO and Affirmative Action policies as determined by the company as well as state/federal agencies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of Recruiting/Human Resources-related experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of Recruiting/Human Resources-related experience
  • Understanding of EEO and Affirmative Action policies
  • Basic understanding of employment law as it relates to hiring practices
  • Knowledge of typical recruiting processes and procedures



  • Experience working as a Recruiter and/or Account Manager within a placement/staffing agency environment including practical experience recruiting for temporary and/or direct hire positions
  • Experience with high volume recruiting
  • Experience working as a Recruiter within Manufacturing, Mining and/or Energy/Utilities industries
  • Experience working with Taleo, or other ATS, as well as SAP HR systems
  • Experience working in a Human Resources function
  • Proven interpersonal skills and strong communication capabilities with different levels of management
  • Willing and able to travel occasionally for career events, mine site support, etc. as business needs dictate


  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Position is in busy, non-smoking office located in Phoenix, AZ
  • Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator
  • Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to ten (10) pounds
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
  • Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable State Laws

Freeport-McMoRan has reviewed the jobs at its various office and operating sites and determined that many of these jobs require employees to perform essential job functions that pose a direct threat to the safety or health of the employees performing these tasks or others. Accordingly, the company has designated the following positions as safety-sensitive:

  • Site-based positions, or positions which require unescorted access to site-based operational areas, which are held by employees who are required to receive MSHA, OSHA, DOT, HAZWOPER and/or Hazard Recognition Training; or 
  • Positions which are held by employees who operate equipment, machinery or motor vehicles in furtherance of performing the essential functions of their job duties, including operating motor vehicles while on company business or travel (for this purpose “motor vehicles” includes company owned or leased motor vehicles and personal motor vehicles used by employees in furtherance of company business or while on company travel); or
  • Positions which Freeport-McMoRan has designated as safety sensitive positions in the applicable job or position description and which upon further review continue to be designated as safety-sensitive based on an individualized assessment of the actual duties performed by a specifically identified employee.
